The TEAM CORE Athlete Profiles

Andrew Holmes:

Andrew Holmes, co-inventor of the excellent Wetronome Pacing Product has been training with The TEAM CORE since February 2007. Whilst both of Andrew's children (Nic and Steve) have formerly been international-callibre swimmers, Andrew prefers his bike riding to time in the pool and has become quite a dab-hand at our Wednesday morning bike intervals session. Having completed a marathon back in 1982, Andrew has decided to take this year a little easier in order to give himself a full 27 years of recovery!

Andrew Menschelyi (aka Andrew M-to-Z):

It used to be a slight mystery as to where Andrew got the first of his two nicknames ("M-to-Z") but when you try pronouncing his surname, you'll know why! He now prefers to go by "Giantman" and at 1.98m in height it is clear to see why this is appropriate! Andrew has been training with The TEAM CORE since August 2006 as he prepared for his first Ironman assault in December 2006 at the 3rd Ironman Western Australia event in Busselton posting a 12hr finish. He hopes to go one better this season by racing at the Australian Ironman Championships in Port Macquarie in April. Always the life and soul of the group, Andrew prepared this rather amusing account of his trials and tribulations at the inaugural Singapore 70.3 Ironman.
