Michael Lee:
Michael Lee first met Paul Newsome at one of the first UK Swim Smooth Clinics in early 2006 up in sunny Chester. Paul has advised Mike for approximately 12 months now on his training and preparation through our unique online training service which last season culminated in an excellent first Ironman finish in 13:31 at Ironman Switzerland. This season sees Mike pursuing his goal of training for the Territorial Army, and whilst it may be a quieter year on the racing front, we know that Mike will be soon back to race some more!
Mike Gee:
If there was ever a "Dark Horse", Mike would be he. Mike first took up triathlon in March 2005 and completed his first Half Ironman in May that year. Since then Mike has gone from strength-to-strength having now completed 2 Ironman events (with a P.B of 9:46) and has knocked out two world-class performances over his strongest discipline of the Half Ironman (70.3) in 4:05 (Busselton 2007) and 4:10 (Singapore 2007) to win his age-group and place 8th overall at the 2007 Busselton Half Ironman having completed the bike and run disciplines faster than 3-times World Triathlon Champion, Peter Robertson at that same event. The future is VERY bright for this talented athlete!
