Unfortunately you're not based in Perth, Western Australia, so cannot attend our comprehensive schedule of triathlon squad sessions; however, that no longer matters! You can still take advantage of our unique coaching practices, knowlege, experience and inspiration from across the internet "air-waves" with our unique online coaching service. What's more, each athlete who registers for our online coaching service gains the benefit of access to our Athlete Toolkit as part of their coaching package and also access to The TEAM CORE's Training Forum which will ensure that you receive the same sort of motivation and encouragement with your triathlon endeavours from both your coach AND your TEAM-mates. No other triathlon coaching program offers anything like this, anywhere else in the world. Period!

Athletes wishing to register for our Individual Online Coaching service will be required to start their coach-athlete relationship by answering a preliminary questionnaire which should take ~ 25-minutes to complete. Obviously though, the more information you can provide about yourself and your past experience, the better. During this first phase of your registration you wll be asked to provide information in the following areas:

* this is a totally bespoke training program. Unlike other programs which claim to be tailored towards your needs and lifestyle, your assigned TEAM CORE coach will work with you to ensure a healthy balance between training, work and family / social aspects is achieved rather than simply offering you a "cookie-cutter-type-program" which you have to then fit in around your schedule. We do offer Training Plan Templates for those who don't seek this level of individual coaching, but for optimal performance, we highly recommend this service.
Once the questionnaire has been completed, received and reviewed by our coaches, one of The TEAM CORE's Coaches will be assigned to you based upon your experience and our knowledge of who would be most suitable as your coach given this information. Your new coach will contact you at an appropriate time and discuss your new program over the phone in a 20-minute telephone consultation. This is an excellent chance to ask any questions or raise any queries you may have and to start to build your successful relationship together. Your program will then be compiled and tailored to your needs and ambitions and your coach will assign you a username and password which you'll then use to access your unique training program through our online portal (accessible on any of our webpages in the left-column).
We utilise the industry-leading software application "Training Peaks" (as built by the Peaksware Group) to ensure that you receive the very best online training experience. This application allows us to easily plan, monitor and analyse your training in a superbly efficient and regular manner, ensuring that you are always progressing with your development.
Online coaching is ideal for you if you have aspirations on a top age-group / elite finish at a major event such as a full / half Ironman or Olympic Distance triathlon, or if you simply want some added professional direction with your training regime. If you are currently using "new technologies" (such as a power meter on the bike and / or downloadable running pace / HRM watch, e.g. Garmin or Polar with footpod) and want to further your knowledge of using these effectively, then this is the program for you! As this is our premium online coaching service, space is limited at any given time ensuring you get the most from your program.
Together with your coach you will address the following areas for optimizing your program and development:
GOAL SETTING: Work out achievable short and long terms goals in order to keep you focused and motivated while allowing your coach to set out an appropriate Annual Training Plan.
TRAINING SCHEDULE: Workouts are provided in 4 week blocks with a detailed description of the workout, including duration, intensity (heart rate and power zones) and purpose. An overall Annual Training Plan is also provided including all upcoming events allowing you to see the "bigger picture" for all your sessions.
PERFORMANCE PROFILING: We have devised a unique Athlete Toolkit that allows us to monitor changes in your adaptation to the sessions and appoint appropriate training intensities. The Athlete Toolkit is ideal for anyone using a HRM with pace/km (or GPS) and / or a power meter for the bike.
COMMUNICATION: You will have unlimited email communication with your coach as well as a weekly call with your coach (athlete initiated) to revise and monitor the progression of your training program where appropriate.
ONLINE TRAINING DIARY: You will have access to The TEAM CORE's online training diary where your workouts will be posted on your own web page and you will be able to enter the details of your workout for analysis by the coach. You will be able to post your heart rate data from your downloadable HR monitor as well as power data from your power meter to allow tracking of your training and racing performances. This training diary can be accessed anywhere where you have web access, making it very efficient for communication.
RACE PLAN & ANALYSIS: A pre-race discussion for your main A-race detailing racing strategy including: goal setting; pacing; nutrition and mental focus and a post race analysis of how your race went including an analysis of any heart rate and power data.
PERFORMANCE MANAGER PROFILING: For those using a power meter and downloadable HRM, we are able to offer structured analysis of your training progression utilising the awesome Performance Manager tool. Peaking for a race has never been so "easy"!
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: A heart rate monitor (preferably a downloadable one), with optional use of a power meter.
PRODUCT DISCOUNTS: All Online Coaching athletes will have access to a 10% discount off all our associated products.
There is a set-up fee of £50.00 GBP / $100.00 USD / $100.00 AUD which includes a 20 minute telephone consultation, review of your questionnaire information and analysis of any previous training data that you may have.
MONTHLY FEES:

*athletes seeking shorter programs will require an additional pro-rata payment of $45.00; $45.00; £20.00 per month.
You are free to cancel you commitment whenever you choose, however, your coaching fees for that month will still be payable. Athletes are requested to let their coaches know before the 20th of each month if they plan to terminate their commitment for the following month.

The Training Peaks platform allows you to collate your training data on a regular basis and to allow maximum freedom and efficiency of communication between you and your coach; after all, communication is the most important ingredient in a successful coach-athlete relationship.
Writing a training program and planning up to 12 or even 24 months in advance for a major competition takes a huge amount of time and resources. In the past, using spreadsheets like Microsoft Excel to format an easily understandable schedule was inefficient, ineffective and most of all, a royal pain in the butt! It seemed to be that as a a coach you'd spend the vast majority of your time making sure the size of the font was both readable and printable! A far cry from efficient time management spent coaching you the athlete. The Training Peaks software allows your coach to write your training programs with the very best level of individualization in a super time-efficient manner, thus freeing up more of our time to do what we do best – coach you! Try to think of it like another extension of our coach-athlete relationship …the part, which computes, programs and interprets your sessions all in one spot.
The other major advantage of the Training Peaks software, is that it allows you the athlete to upload as much, or as little, training history and information as you wish on a daily or weekly basis. This is all stored in a single format that makes our life analysing your results and keeping you on track that much easier. So rather than say a group of 10 athletes all sending through information in various types, e.g. emails, personal messages, SMS, over the phone, by post, in MS Excel format or in many other “X,Y or Z” formats…it translates this all into one easy-to-use coach-athlete interface, with the biggest benefit that all this information is stored in one convenient location! Now that’s efficient!
The biggest benefit for you the athlete is that it also allows you to upload training data from new technology like power meters, heart rate monitors, GPS units etc, then saves this data for graphical representation. As we’ll discuss in due course, this is a superb way to manage your performance and keep you on track. The software automatically emails you every evening with the next 2-days worth of training and notifies your coach every time you post your training diary for review. It even allows you to easily monitor and track your diet as well, which is a great tool! Talk about great communication! It also allows us to make adjustments to your program very easily and most importantly – quickly! No more waiting around for your coach to re-format an Excel spreadsheet!!
Finally, we would be foolish to suggest that we know everything there is to know about every triathlon and swimming discipline. The knew technologies that are readily becoming available offer a huge benefit to you the athlete, but a pretty steep learning curve for your coach!
